The groove of a hexagonal socket pan head screw is a recessed hexagonal,and the screw has a flat round head. Commonly used materials include carbon steel and stainless steel. Carbon steel can be divided into low carbon steel, medium carbon steel and high carbon steel. Different carbon steels have different properties such as strength and hardness. Generally, hexagon socket head machine screws of low carbon steel are softer, medium carbon steel has higher strength and hardness, but its toughness is not as good as low carbon steel, and high carbon steel hexagon socket head machine screws have the highest strength and hardness, but the toughness is lower than the previous two.
Stainless steel materials include 304, 316, A2-70, A4-70 and other materials. Among them, stainless steel 304 has better high temperature resistance and good corrosion resistance,stainless steel316 has better corrosion resistance and is easier to embrittle.
The surface treatments of carbon steel include white zinc, black zinc, and colored zinc. The surface treatments of stainless steel include whitewash, passivation, black oxide, black zinc, and nylon glue coating.
ISO7380 is further divided into ISO7380-1 (simple pan head hexagon socket screws) and ISO7380-2 (washer pan head hexagon socket screws). This page describes the former, ISO7380-1. The size range of screws includes M3 to M16. The product grade is Grade A. The ISO7380-1 standard also covers screw symbols and dimensional descriptions, as well as requirements for materials, threads, mechanical properties, coatings and surface integrity.
